This position assists in development, implementation, refinement and reporting of the RAC case management and appeals program. It is accountable for reviewing documentation of clinical care provided, financial outcomes of an assigned population, coordinating clinical documentation, drafting appeal letters and identified for RAC audits and appeals in response to a claims denial from the RAC. He/She works collaboratively with all interdisciplinary staff internal to OhioHealth and also external organizations to achieve timely, cost efficient and effective management of the RAC case management appeals process.

According to department policies and nursing care standards, provides professional nursing care services to patients admitted/transferred to assigned unit. Nurse Practitioners in Neurosurgery will work with Surgeons and Physician Assistants in the evaluation of new patients, as well as care of the patient having Neurosurgery. The position will also involve training and responsibilities for procedures including but not limited to fiducial placements, placement of ventriculostomy, arterial lines and central lines. The PA and NP in the Neurosurgery service line are “first responders” to ED admissions, consults, and calls regarding Neurosurgery issues.

The Plastics Nurse Practitioner works closely with the Plastics Surgeons and the Trauma Team to provide care for the complex trauma patients at one of the busiest trauma centers in the state of Ohio. Our Plastics team is a dynamic group of health care providers, skilled in the care of the complex plastic surgery patients. The Plastics NP sees patients on the trauma unit and critical care daily. This position provides nursing care to patients and families along the health-illness continuum while collaborating with the health care team. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the state statutes. The RN delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) using the criteria written in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Must hold a current registered nurse license from the State of Ohio. BLS Certification

This position is responsible providing didactic and clinical instruction in the nurse anesthesia program. Duties will include course planning and design, didactic and clinical instruction, evaluation of learning, student advising, curriculum and program evaluation and attending program department meetings. This position will be 0.5 education and 0.5 clinical.

• Master’s degree
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio.
• Holds a current Certificate of Authority from the Ohio State Board of Nursing to practice as a CRNA.
• Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program.
• Certified by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.

The Critical Care Nurse Practitioner (CCNP) is an Advanced Practice Nurse delivering individualized comprehensive nursing care to patients and their families with attention to physical assessments, preventative health care, education and medical management of acute and chronic illnesses. The CCNP practices case management for patient on the critical care services line in collaboration with a Physician, according to guidelines set forth in the Standard Care Arrangement.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Licensed RN in the State of Ohio, Masters Degree in Nursing, Certificate of Authority in the State of Ohio, and Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by nationally-accredited certifying board required for the NP, Current credentials to practice in accordance with hospital policies.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

KIND AND LENGTH OF EXPERIENCE
Three years related clinical experience in the care of the critical care patient, Effective customer service, communication and interpersonal skills, professionally appropriate analytical and organizational skills.

Day shift position with rotation to nights and/or evenings. 10 or 12 hour shifts. Includes every third weekend and a holiday rotation. 3 years critical care experience. Acute Care Nurse practitioner preferred. FCCS preferred. Excellent communication skills with a positive innovative perspective.
