Monitors adherence to the hospital&#x2019;s utilization review plan to ensure effective and efficient use of hospital services and reviews the appropriateness of hospital admissions and extended hospitals stays.  He/She works collaboratively with all interdisciplinary staff internal to OhioHealth and also external organizations to achieve timely, cost efficient and effective management of patient care.  Performs utilization review in accordance with all state and federal mandated regulations.  Maintains compliancy with regulation changes affecting utilization management.</p>  <b>Minimum Qualifications</b><br/>  <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<br/>Graduate from an accredited Bachelor's of Nursing program; Current Ohio RN license. and/or Graduate from an accredited Master's of Social Work Program and or a LISW license. . Specialized knowledge of discharge process, utilization management intensity of service, severity of illness criteria; Familiarity with computer technology, and ability to use database and spreadsheets; Excellent written/verbal communication and teaching/training skills; Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding measurable performance criteria in a job setting.<br/><br/>DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS<br/> Advanced training in case management, or certification in case management or clinical specialty.  Master's Degree in related field.  Case management and/or performance improvement experience.  Experience in financial analysis.  Experience in group/collaborative teamwork process. He/She also assists in training employees, distributing work among staff to ensure completion, and in scheduling work hours of staff as needed to meet the flow of admissions.  This position performs all interviewing and clerical tasks required to obtain registration information and process patient registrations in the hospital.  He/She performs bed scheduling tasks to coordinate, communicate, and process bed assignments and patient movements.  This position also assists in preparation and maintenance of department policies and procedures as it applies to registration of patients and bed scheduling.</p>  <b>Minimum Qualifications</b><br/>  <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE<br/>High School graduate or equivalent.<br/><br/>SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE<br/>Excellent customer service skills.  Ability to type at least 40 wpm and be PC familiar.  Knowledge of worker's compensation and health insurance.
