Position Summary

Assists patients and their families with social, economic and psychological needs which may affect their abilities to benefit fully form health care. Screens, identifies, assesses, develops and implements a plan of care for patients and families requiring social work or discharge planning.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION: Masters degree in Social Work or a related field and LSW license in the State of Ohio. Knowledge of human growth and development and psychosicial interventions. Preferred 2-3 years hospital experience in LSW and knowledge of medical terminology and computer skills.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Possess organizational and analytic skills, which enables this position to function independently. Demonstrates effective verbal, written, and effective interpersonal skills. Must utilize social work theory, skills and interventions in a health care setting. Familiar with basic medical terminology and basic computer skills.

KIND and LENGTH of EXPERIENCE: Two to three years experience as a LSW, preferably in a hospital setting.

Additional Job Information

Looking for medical social worker to work contingent hours on weekdays and weekends on all areas of hospital, including med-surg and OB. Hospital experience preferred.
