Position Summary

This position ensures delivery of evidenced-based patient care by professional nursing personnel and other staff in designated areas through interdisciplinary teams using process improvement tools and methodologies. He/She integrates the Nursing Philosophy along with the mission, vision, values, goals and objectives of OhioHealth in Department operations. The Clinical Outcomes Manager provides direction as it relates to quality and outcomes management to Managers, Nurse Administrators, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Advanced Practice Nurse. This position works with the Chief Nursing Officer to ensure one standard of care and practice for professional nursing throughout the organization. Within an outcomes management framework, he/she functions as an attending nurse for overseeing a population of patients refining standardized practices to achieve best practice.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Credentials, Licensure:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed in the State of Ohio. Master of Science in Nursing or related field. Licensed to practice as Registered Nurse in Ohio; current Basic Life (BLS) provider; Baccalaureate degree in nursing and a graduate degree in nursing or a related field from a program that includes organizational science and management concepts

Specialized Knowledge:
Understanding of systems and change process. Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing; skilled in organizational dynamics, diplomacy, and assertiveness. Ability to act autonomously and willingness to be open to change. Computer skills: database, Word, Access, Excel. Viewed by peers and physicians as expert resource in his/her area of practice. Administrative concepts, organizational behavior, Management processes, Nursing practice standards, legal and ethical matters, Health care economics, Health and public policy, Consumer health issues, Health care evaluation and outcome measures. (P 53 ANA stds). Management skills such as: consultation, teaching/ learning, problem-solving and understanding of quality improvement. May require advanced training in specialty areas.

Kind and Length of Experience:
Experience as staff RN, ANM or like position (5-10 yrs clinical, bedside nursing in related area of practice).

Additional Job Information

Critical Care Nursing and/or ED Nursing experience preferred.
