Position Summary

This position is responsible for providing day-to-day clinical management of a select group of patients along with an identified Physician Director. This position has prescriptive authority.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Holds a current registered nurse license from the State of Ohio. Master's degree in Nursing. Graduate of an accredited post Master's Nurse Practitioner Program. Certification by American Nurses' Credentialing Center as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. Specialty certification in area of expertise (ie, CNRN, CCRN). ACLS Certification. In-depth knowledge and demonstrated expertise in area of clinical specialization. Demonstrated exceptional IPR and problem-solving skills. Three to five years clinical nursing practice in the acute care setting. Requires prescriptive authority.

Additional Job Information

The Plastics Nurse Practitioner works closely with the Plastics Surgeons and the Trauma Team to provide care for the complex trauma patients at one of the busiest trauma centers in the state of Ohio. Our Plastics team is a dynamic group of health care providers, skilled in the care of the complex plastic surgery patients. The Plastics NP sees patients on the trauma unit and critical care daily. Together with the Plastics surgeons, they are responsible for evaluating patients, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, as well as developing and carrying out patient treatment plans. Clinical leaders in the trauma program, the Plastics Nurse Practitioners are involved in process improvement projects and are an educational resource for patients, families, and staff. The Plastics Nurse Practitioner is an Advanced Practice Nurse delivering individualized comprehensive nursing care to patients and their families with attention to physical assessments, preventative health care, education and medical management of acute and chronic illnesses. The Plastics NP practices case management for patients on the trauma services line in collaboration with a Physician, according to guidelines set forth in the Standard Care Arrangement.
