Position Summary
The program administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the
education, accreditation and outcome measurement activities for residency and/or fellowship training programs, as outlined by the following accreditation bodies: ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education), AOA, (American Osteopathic Association), and CPME (Council for Podiatric Medical Education), in addition to the common program requirements from the specialty specific Residency Review Committees (RRC).
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree required.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
With the increasing scope and complexity of program requirements and documentation, the program administrator must have superior organizational skills. The ability to prioritize work independently and to meet important deadlines is critical.
The program administrator should demonstrate superior skills in:
Interpersonal and Communication (written and verbal)
Problem-solving and decision-making
Administration and organization
Prioritization and Management of multiple functions
Goal-setting
Timeliness
Confidentiality
Computer applications
Training and mentoring
KIND and LENGTH of EXPERIENCE
1-3 years experience in an Administrative Healthcare setting.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Masters degree in Education, Medical Administration, or related field.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Familiarity with ACGME, AOA, CPME and RRC accreditation regulations.
KIND and LENGTH of EXPERIENCE
Prior Graduate Medical Education experience preferred.
