Position Summary

The duties of this position includes but is not limited to accurate, precise, and timely patient test results for the diagnosis and management of human illness. Position utilizes automation and computerization, and manual methods. Responsible for quality control and instrument operation, maintenance and troubleshooting. May be involved in teaching and training, but not in a leadership position. Position handles blood, tissue, fecal matter, sputum, urine, spinal fluid and other body fluids. Specimens may be contaminated with infectious diseases including HIV and other blood borne pathogens.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Credentials, Licenses: Four year Bachelor of Science Degree. Registered by the American Society of Clinical Pathologist.
Specialized Knowledge: Superior customer service skills.
Kind and Length of Experience: Experience in an automated clinical laboratory

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Credentials, Licenses: Phlebotomy experience.
Specialized Knowledge: Excellent computer skills, writing skills. Leadership qualities. Superior customer service skills to clinicians and clients. Excellent communication skills with patients and families.
Kind and Length of Experience: 1 yr experience beyond minimum requirement in an automated clinical laboratory.
