Position Summary
The coder performs non-complex professional coding and abstracting functions for all service locations utilized by professional providers while maintaining 95% quality. The coder researches and resolves pre-bill coding and payor denial coding issues.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Credentials, Licenses: Demonstrated knowledge of professional ICD-9, CPT and HCPCS coding with a minimum of two years coding experience in a physician practice.
Specialized Knowledge: ICD-9 and CPT classification systems.
Kind and Length of Experience: Two or more years professional coding experience.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Credentials, Licenses: Coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA.
Specialized Knowledge: Multi-specialty surgical or teaching physician regulations.
Kind and Length of Experience: Three or more years professional coding experience.
