Position Summary

This position provides technical support to the process of system management to an area or department and acts as a liaison between the Electronic Transaction Assurance department and Revenue Cycle Information Services. Under minimum supervision, this, employee performs assignments that are varied and moderately complex. The employee exercises judgment in tasks, referring unusual cases to the appropriate people. Requires extensive knowledge of company/department procedures related to work performed including, but not limited to, reviewing the electronic remittance advice and payment for ANSI and HIPPA compliance to ensure proper posting procedures and ability to translate Claim Adjustment Remittance Codes (CARC) and Remark Advice Remittance Codes (RARC) into data that is built into our mainframe. He/She typically performs one or more of the following: Creating new queries and analysis tools and assisting Revenue Cycle Information Services with developing databases as needed. He/She makes decisions or recommendations relative to workflow processes, account information, or other activities. He/She analyzes performance information or trends using more moderately complex data, identifies problems and makes recommendations on solutions. This position may have access to confidential data such as patient financial information, employee pay, etc

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Credentails, Licenses:
Associate's Degree or equivalent from two year college or technical school; or four years experience as a Data Analyst or similar position.

Specialized Knowledge:
Knowledge of patient accounting principles and/or cash posting. Use of 10-key calculator and basic computer skills.

Kind and Length of Experience:
1-2 years accounting, bookkeeping, or banking preferred.


DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
Associates Degree in Accounting/Business related field.

Specialized Knowledge:
Knowledge of patient accounts and hospital remittance processing. Knowledge of computer applications including, but not limited to, HBOC/STAR, QMS, HPF, Express Claim.

Kind and Length of Experience:
2-3 years experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or banking.
